Hard Water Home began with the same frustrations you probably have – the dry skin, the scaly kettle, the constant cleaning, and the feeling that there wasn't a single place to get the answers. So we created it.

Hi, I’m Lucinda

My story with hard water began when I returned to the south of the UK after several years living in soft water areas.

Suddenly the small daily frustrations returned: kettles needing constant descaling, limescale returning almost as quickly as it was cleaned away, and hair and skin that felt dry and dull.

But when I went looking for guidance on how to deal with it, the information didn't seem to exist anywhere in one clear place.

So I created Hard Water Home to bring straightforward advice together – explaining what hard water is, why it affects our homes, and the best options for managing it.

Alongside the website, I also co-run an award-winning plumbing business, giving me unique insight into issues, trends and how hard water affects our homes and plumbing systems.
