Thinking about buying the Hello Klean Shower Head 2.0 and wondering whether it is actually worth the money?

In this Hello Klean review, we analysed 100 real customer reviews to find out what people actually noticed after installing and living with the filtered shower head.

Hello Klean Shower Head 2.0 shown in a repeating pattern, highlighting the minimalist design and circular spray head.

The results were exceptionally strong, with customers repeatedly reporting meaningful improvements to their hair, skin and overall shower experience.

Is Hello Klean worth it?

Yes for people hoping to improve how their hair and skin feel after showering, the data shows it is one of the strongest options available.

  • 98% rated it four or five stars

  • 50 in 100 reported improved hair

  • 43 in 100 reported improved skin

  • Pressure feedback was generally positive

  • It's our best overall filtered shower head

Hello Klean does not soften hard water, and the ongoing filter cost is something to consider. But the customer feedback suggests that, for the vast majority of users, it delivers a noticeable and worthwhile difference.

How we analysed the Hello Klean reviews

Most product reviews give you one person’s opinion.

This is different.

As hard-water specialists — and co-owners of a plumbing company — we know that everyone’s water, shower setup, skin and hair are different. What works brilliantly in one home may feel less noticeable in another.

That's why we didn't base this Hello Klean review on one person’s experience alone.

We analysed reviews from 100 real Hello Klean customers — people who had bought, installed and lived with the Shower Head 2.0.

No cherry-picking. We looked at the good, the bad and everything in between: hair, skin, pressure, shower feel, visible limescale, faults and whether people noticed any difference at all.

Because one review can be useful. One hundred reviews can reveal a pattern.

That allowed us to see which benefits appeared repeatedly, which complaints were isolated and what most customers actually experienced over time.

How Hello Klean compares with other shower filters

Hello Klean delivered the strongest all-round customer feedback in our wider shower-filter analysis.

It achieved the highest overall satisfaction, the most reports of improved hair and the highest number of reviewers reporting improved skin. While other filters performed better in individual areas such as pressure or visible scale, Hello Klean was the most balanced performer overall.

Hello Klean reviews breakdown

Of the 100 Hello Klean reviews we analysed:

  • 98% rated it 4–5 stars

  • 1% rated it 3 stars

  • 1% rated it 1 star

That is an exceptionally strong result — and the feedback went far beyond people simply saying the shower head was “good”.

Customers described it as a “game changer”, a “transformational purchase” and one of the best things they had bought for their hair. Some noticed a difference within the first few showers, while others said the benefits became clearer over several weeks or months.

Reviewers also praised the water flow, shower feel and design. Some were impressed enough to buy another for a second bathroom or recommend it to friends and family.

The headline from the data is clear: Hello Klean did not just achieve high ratings. For many customers, it made their everyday shower noticeably better.

What people loved

Hair was the standout result

Hair was the most frequently reported benefit in our analysis. Fifty out of 100 reviewers said their hair improved after using Hello Klean. Common comments included:

  • softer, smoother hair

  • less frizz and dryness

  • improved shine

  • hair feeling easier to manage

  • less breakage or hair fall

  • hair colour looking better for longer

Some reviewers noticed a difference quickly, while others described improvements developing gradually over several weeks.

Skin feedback was almost as strong

Forty-three reviewers reported an improvement to their skin. They commonly described:

  • less dryness

  • reduced tightness after showering

  • calmer-feeling skin

  • less itching or irritation

  • skin feeling softer and more comfortable

A small number mentioned eczema or dermatitis, but these were individual customer experiences rather than clinical evidence. What the reviews do show is a strong and repeated pattern of customers saying their skin felt less dry, tight or uncomfortable after showering.

Water pressure was generally positive

Nineteen reviewers described the pressure or spray as good, improved or comfortably maintained. Three found it weaker than expected.

Most customers did not report the dramatic loss of pressure that can sometimes occur with filtered shower heads.

Instead, the spray was frequently described as even, comfortable and pleasant to use.

The main complaints

Negative feedback was rare, but the two lower-rated reviews shared the same basic concern: neither customer could see or feel enough of a difference.

One reviewer said the product had not worked for them and was being returned.

The other reported no noticeable improvement to their hair or skin and said water stains continued to appear on the shower glass.

That is worth keeping in mind because results can vary between homes. Water quality, existing pressure, household use and the problem you are hoping to improve may all affect how noticeable the difference feels.

The reassurance is that Hello Klean offers a 100-day returns period, giving you time to try the shower head properly and send it back if it does not make enough of a difference for you.

Cost upfront and ongoing (and why filter changes matter)

A shower filter only keeps working properly while its filter media is still effective.

Over time, the cartridge becomes used up as it deals with chlorine, metals and other unwanted substances in the water.

That is why regular filter changes matter, particularly if you are relying on the shower head to improve how your skin or hair feels.

Regular filter changes are needed to keep shower heads performing well

With Hello Klean, the cheapest way to get started is to sign up to their Smart Refill plan so you can get the shower head and first filter (plus a free product) for £60. The refill plan then costs £36 every 3 months.

First year cost: £60 (shower head + first filter) + £108 (three refills) = £168

Ongoing yearly cost: £144 per year for four filters

That works out at around £3 per week for something many reviewers say noticeably improved their skin and hair.

If you don't mind paying more upfront, you can save by buying the shower head and 1 year refill kit — more on that below.

Does Hello Klean help with hard water?

Hello Klean does not soften hard water.

It does not remove the calcium and magnesium that make water hard, so it cannot replace a whole-home water softener.

The Shower Head 2.0 uses filtration and scale-control media designed to tackle chlorine, metals and mineral deposits.

Hello Klean says its scale-control testing found at least 82% scale reduction across up to 8,000 litres. However, that testing relates to reducing deposits on surfaces; it does not mean the calcium and magnesium minerals that make water hard have been removed.

Customer feedback on visible limescale was mixed:

  • 4 reviewers reported less scale on shower screens, trays or fittings;

  • 3 reviewers said hard-water marks or deposits continued.

So I would not buy Hello Klean expecting limescale to disappear completely.

Its clearest review-supported strengths were hair, skin and overall shower comfort.

Is Hello Klean Shower Head 2.0 right for you?

Who it’s best for

  • your hair feels dry, rough, frizzy or difficult to manage

  • your skin feels tight, dry or irritated after showering

  • you want the strongest all-round customer feedback

  • you are happy to replace filters regularly

  • you want a premium filtered shower head rather than the cheapest option

It’s probably not for you if

  • you want to completely remove hardness and limescale

  • you do not want ongoing replacement costs

  • your water pressure is already very low

  • you want the cheapest way to try a shower filter

  • you have several showers and would be better served by a whole-home solution

Our Hello Klean review verdict

Hello Klean was the strongest all-round filtered shower head in our wider comparison.

It had the highest overall customer satisfaction, the strongest hair feedback and the highest number of reviewers reporting improved skin.

It did not have the strongest pressure feedback or the highest number of visible-limescale improvements. But it offered the most balanced combination of hair, skin, shower performance and reliability.

For people whose main concerns are dry-feeling hair and skin, we think it is one of the most convincing premium options.

Want Hello Klean for less?

Hello Klean offers the shower head with a full year of replacement cartridges for £145.

That works out at about £45 less than paying the usual first-year shower-head and refill costs separately.

Choose the Smart Refill plan for the lowest upfront price, or the annual bundle if you would rather pay for the first year in one go and make the biggest overall saving.

Hello Klean Shower Head+ vs Shower Head 2.0

Shower Head+ is Hello Klean’s newer smart model.

It uses the same filter cartridges as the Shower Head 2.0, so the filtration itself is not an upgrade.

The main difference is the added technology. Apple users can connect Shower Head+ to an app to track filter life and receive replacement reminders.

So if filtration is your main concern, the Shower Head 2.0 gives you the same filtered water for less. Shower Head+ is mainly about smart features and convenience.

Still unsure?

Hello Klean is not the cheapest filtered shower head, and you will need to budget for replacement cartridges. However, it also produced the strongest overall customer feedback of the four products we compared.

For a cheaper premium option with particularly strong sensitive-skin feedback, consider Curo Skin.

For a low-cost way to try a filtered shower head, Cobbe is the more affordable starting point.

What you need to know before buying a filtered shower head

Before buying a filtered shower head, it’s worth understanding what shower filters actually do, how they work, and when they’re worth the money.

Thinking about your drinking water too?

If you’re filtering your shower water, it’s worth remembering your tap water comes from the same source. So if you’re keen to reduce what you’re exposed to in the shower, it makes sense to look at what you’re drinking as well. An on-tap filter is one of the simplest ways to do that — no plumbing changes, just a quick upgrade to your kitchen tap.

Hello Klean Shower Head 2.0 FAQs

Does Hello Klean actually soften hard water?

No. Hello Klean does not remove the calcium and magnesium minerals that make water hard, so it does not soften water in the way a whole-home water softener does.

Instead, the Shower Head 2.0 uses filtration alongside scale-control media designed to reduce chlorine, metals and mineral deposits.

Hello Klean says its scale-control testing found at least 82% less scale across up to 8,000 litres of water. That relates to reducing deposits on surfaces, though — it does not mean the hardness minerals have been removed from the water.

That distinction matters. You may still see some limescale marks, but many customers said their hair and skin felt noticeably better after showering.

How often do you need to change the filter?

Hello Klean recommends changing the filter around every three months, based on typical use.

Larger or busier households may need to replace it more frequently, especially if the same shower is used several times a day.

Regular changes matter because the filter media becomes less effective over time as it deals with chlorine, metals and other unwanted substances in the water. Keeping on top of replacements gives you the best chance of maintaining the hair, skin and shower-feel benefits customers reported.

Will it reduce water pressure?

Based on the 100 reviews we analysed, pressure was generally a strength rather than a problem.

Nineteen reviewers described the pressure or spray as good, improved or comfortably maintained, while three said it felt weaker than expected.

Most customers did not report the noticeable pressure drop that can happen with some filtered shower heads. Instead, the spray was often described as even, comfortable and well balanced.

Is Hello Klean worth it compared to cheaper shower heads?

Hello Klean is one of the more expensive shower filters we’ve reviewed, but it also has the strongest overall feedback to back up the price. Cheaper shower heads can still offer benefits, especially as a starting point, but many reviewers felt Hello Klean delivered noticeable and lasting improvements to hair and skin and were happy with their purchase.
