At first glance, Hello Klean and Curo Skin look like very close competitors. Both are premium filtered shower heads designed to make shower water feel kinder on your skin and hair, both look good enough to feel like a proper bathroom upgrade, and both have excellent customer feedback.
They’re also similar enough in price that choosing between them isn’t immediately obvious.
So rather than just comparing what the brands say, we looked at what customers actually experienced.
We analysed 200 real customer reviews — 100 for Hello Klean and 100 for Curo Skin — tracking recurring feedback around skin, hair, water pressure, limescale and everyday use.
And while Hello Klean and Curo Skin look fairly evenly matched at first, our review shows some clear differences.

What 200 customer reviews actually tell us
Most product reviews give you one person’s experience.
This is different.
As hard-water specialists — and co-owners of a plumbing company — we know that everyone’s water, shower setup, skin and hair are different. What works brilliantly in one home may feel less noticeable in another.
That’s why we analysed 100 Hello Klean reviews and 100 Curo Skin reviews, tracking the same recurring themes across both products — skin, hair, pressure, shower feel, visible limescale, fit, faults and whether people noticed any difference at all.
No cherry-picking. We looked at the good, the bad and everything in between.
Because one review can be useful. Two hundred reviews can reveal the pattern.
That allowed us to see where the two products genuinely differ — so you can make a more confident choice based on what matters most to you.
Skin
Hello Klean wins on numbers, but Curo has an important advantage
Across the 100 Hello Klean reviews we analysed, 43 customers reported an improvement to their skin. For Curo Skin, it was 39 out of 100.
So for skin overall, Hello Klean comes out slightly ahead.
Customers using both products talked about similar improvements: less dryness and tightness, softer-feeling skin and less irritation after showering.
But dig a little deeper and the picture changes.
Curo had stronger feedback from people with specific skin conditions
We separately tracked reviews mentioning eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis.
With Hello Klean, we found five.
With Curo Skin, we found eight — and every one reported improvement.
That included feedback around reduced itching and redness, calmer skin and fewer or less severe flare-ups.
That's why we wouldn't simply look at the 43 vs 39 result and declare Hello Klean the skin winner.
Our take:
For generally dry, tight or uncomfortable skin → slight edge to Hello Klean.
For sensitive, reactive or eczema-prone skin → we'd choose Curo Skin.
An important caveat: neither shower filter is a treatment for eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis.
These conditions can have many causes, and customer reviews cannot prove that changing the shower head caused the improvement.
What the data does give us is a strong pattern of real-world feedback — and Curo's skin-focused feedback is good.
Hair
Hello Klean wins clearly
If your main frustration is your hair, this is the easiest decision in the comparison.
50 out of 100 Hello Klean customers reported better hair. For Curo, it was 36 out of 100.
That's a pretty substantial gap.
Hello Klean customers repeatedly mentioned hair feeling:

less frizzy
shinier
easier to manage
There were also individual reports around reduced breakage, hair shedding and colour lasting better, although we'd be cautious about attributing those directly to a shower filter.
Curo's hair feedback was still very good. Customers commonly described softer, less dry hair, easier styling and needing less hair oil.
But when you're comparing like-for-like samples of 100 reviews, 50 vs 36 is one of the clearest differences between these two shower heads.
If your hair has started feeling rough, dry or unmanageable since moving to a hard-water area, Hello Klean would be our first choice.
Water pressure & fit
It's a draw for pressure & Hello Klean wins for fit
Filtered shower heads sometimes get blamed for reducing pressure, so this was one of the things we specifically tracked.
The result?
Hello Klean: 19 positive pressure/spray mentions.
Curo Skin: 19 positive pressure/spray mentions.
That’s as close as you can get.
Hello Klean customers often described the spray as even and comfortable, while some felt pressure actually improved. Three reviewers in our sample thought it was weaker than expected.
Curo received similarly positive feedback, with several customers saying the spray felt powerful without being harsh. There was one notable report of significantly reduced pressure, but it wasn't a wider pattern.
So we wouldn't choose between them on pressure alone.
There is, however, one Curo-specific issue worth knowing about.
Curo is heavier
Around 15 of the Curo reviews we analysed mentioned the weight, shower holder or bracket.
Once the large filter inside becomes wet, the handset can be fairly heavy. Some people's existing holders coped perfectly well, while others found the shower head tipped forwards or wouldn't stay where they wanted it.
Curo sells a separate shower holder for ÂŁ10 specifically to help with this. It's probably the biggest practical disadvantage we'd factor into this comparison.
Price
Curo is slightly cheaper at full price but discounts can tip it in Hello Klean’s favour
At standard pricing, there’s very little between them.
Hello Klean: £60 upfront, then £36 every 3 months — £168 in the first year. Or the shower head + 1 year of filters is £145.
Curo Skin: £60 upfront, then £34 every 3 months — £162 in the first year. Or the shower head + 1 year of filters is £140.
So at full price, Curo is ÂŁ6 cheaper on the subscription in year one and ÂŁ5 cheaper on the annual package.
However, the best-value option can change once discounts are applied. Hello Klean often runs stronger offers, which can make it cheaper than Curo depending on the deal available when you buy.

Ongoing filter costs are close, working out at roughly ÂŁ11 a month for Curo and ÂŁ12 a month for Hello Klean, so Curo has the slight edge here.

In our review analysis, 4 Hello Klean customers reported less visible scale, compared with just 1 Curo customer.
Hello Klean has the slight edge, but neither is a water softener, so they don’t remove the calcium and magnesium minerals that cause hard water.

Hello Klean gives you longer to decide
This is worth paying attention to because shower-filter results aren't universal.
Your water, hair, skin and shower setup are all personal to you, so results can vary from one person to the next.
Hello Klean currently gives customers 100 days to try the shower head, while Curo offers a 60-day return period for its filtered shower head.
Both give you plenty of time to properly try the product.
But if you're nervous about spending the money and want the longest trial period possible, Hello Klean has the advantage.

How do Hello Klean and Curo Skin actually work?
Both replace your existing handheld shower head and pass the shower water through replaceable filter media before it reaches you.
But the filtration isn't identical.
Curo says its filter uses KDF-55, calcium sulphite and activated carbon and is designed to reduce chlorine and heavy metals. The company also puts quite a lot of emphasis on reducing the amount of plastic used in each replacement filter.
Hello Klean says the Shower Head 2.0 reduces free chlorine by up to approximately 97% in SGS testing, while also helping reduce heavy metals, rust and other impurities. It additionally incorporates scale-control media aimed at reducing mineral deposits.
Both recommend changing the filter around every three months.
We wouldn't get too hung up on comparing enormous lists of filtration claims, though.
What matters more to us is whether customers actually notice a difference once the product is installed.
And that's exactly why the 200 reviews carry more weight in our verdict than the marketing claims do.
What are the companies like?
There's an interesting difference between the brands here too.
Hello Klean is the older and considerably more established company.
It was founded in 2019 by Karlee Zhang and Omer Ozener after Zhang noticed that her hair and skin behaved differently when she travelled between areas with different water.
The founders initially put ÂŁ60,000 of their own savings into developing the business, later appeared on Dragons' Den, and Hello Klean is now sold through retailers including Selfridges and Sephora UK.
In 2026, BRITA Group took a minority investment in Hello Klean, its first move into the beauty category. Hello Klean remains independently operated, but the relationship gives it access to BRITA's filtration research and testing infrastructure.
That's fairly reassuring background for a company selling water-filtration products.
Curo is much newer.
Founder Harry says the idea came from his own experience with dry, irritated skin and a flaky scalp. After noticing his skin improved while away from home, he began looking at the role his water might be playing.
Curo then spent around 18 months developing its filtered shower head before launching in February 2025.
Despite being the younger brand, it has grown quickly and already picked up awards from the likes of Good Housekeeping, Marie Claire and Glamour.
It also has a particularly strong skin-first identity, which matches with what we found independently in its customer reviews.

Is Hello Klean better than Curo Skin?
Overall, we'd choose Hello Klean. In our analysis of 100 reviews for each product, Hello Klean had the higher positive rating and more customers reported improvements to their hair and skin. Curo Skin was stronger, however, among reviewers specifically mentioning eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis.
Is Curo Skin or Hello Klean better for eczema?
Based on our customer-review analysis, Curo Skin produced the stronger feedback from people specifically mentioning eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. Eight Curo reviewers in our sample mentioned one of those conditions and all reported some improvement, compared with five named-condition mentions for Hello Klean.
Neither is an eczema treatment, so we'd view a filtered shower head as something that may make shower water feel less aggravating rather than something designed to treat the underlying condition.
Is Hello Klean or Curo better for hair?
Hello Klean. 50 out of 100 Hello Klean reviewers reported better hair compared with 36 out of 100 Curo reviewers, making this one of the clearest differences in our comparison.
Do Hello Klean and Curo Skin remove hard water?
No. Neither product is a water softener, so neither completely removes the calcium and magnesium minerals responsible for hard water and limescale.
